Mrs. Runa Posey, age 100, of Soperton died Friday, January 13, 2017.

Mrs. Posey was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her parents, S. V. and Emmie Davis McLendon, her husband of fifty-six years, A. J. Posey, sons, Norwood Posey and Lynn Posey, grandsons, Brent Posey and Jerrod Posey, and sisters, Lucille Parrish, Lettie Wells,  Macie Martin, and Audrey Wilcher.  She was a homemaker and attended Soperton Trinity Assembly of God.

Survivors include her children, Jackson (Nita Crump) Posey of Mount Vernon, Joan (Bobby) Cammack and Gilbert (Debi) Posey, all of Soperton, and Rebecca Mughetti of Fernandina Beach, FL; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, with Pastor Gilbert Posey and Reverend Milton Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in Red Bluff Cemetery, Treutlen County.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour before services on Sunday.
