Mr. Russell Ray Jackson, age 85, of Carrollton died Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

Mr. Jackson was born in Cullman, AL and grew up in Treutlen County.  He lived in Atlanta during his working years and retired to Blairsville in 1999.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Green Hugh and Ethel Ricks Jackson, wife, Lillian A. Jackson, and brothers, Hugh Jackson and Van Jackson.  He was a graduate of John Marshall School of Law, Atlanta, and was retired from General Motors Corporation, Atlanta.  He served in the US Air Force for four years.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Galloway Jackson; a brother, Verlon Jackson of Mettarie, LA; two nieces, Susan Pellitier and Nancy Quiones; and a nephew, Robin Jackson.

Graveside services will be held in Warren Ricks Cemetery, Treutlen County, at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, with the Reverend George Grimes officiating.  An honor guard from Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, will provide military honors.

A visitation will be held at Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, Friday from 6—8 p.m.
