Mrs. Sara Lynn Meeks, age 84, beloved wife of the late Howard Meeks of Wrightsville passed away on Monday morning, May 1, 2023 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

Born in the Meeks Community, she was the only child born to the late Theo and Mildred Hall Smith. She was a graduate of Adrian High School, Class of 1950. After high school she went to work For Mr. Milo Wommack at Wommack Furniture of Adrian. She not only served in an administrative and secretarial position for the furniture store, but also for the Mayor of Adrian that happened to be her employer, Mr. Wommack. In 1966 she married Howard Glisson Meeks who operated Meeks Upholstery in Wrightsville for many years. When in her sixties, Mrs. Meeks attended Swainsboro Technological College in Wrightsville to study Computer Concepts and Operations and to earn her CNA certification to gain the knowledge and skills to care for her mother and eventually her husband. The Meeks have lived in Wrightsville for approximately fifty years. Her husband of fifty four years passed away this past December.

She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, time spent with family and especially her grand daughter, who affectionately called her "Meme".

She and Mr. Meeks had attended the Corinth United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Meeks leaves behind, her daughter, Rose Marie Meeks and her granddaughter, Sara Mae Elizabeth Mobini, all of Dublin, Georgia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from the graveside in the Corinth Church Cemetery, in the Meeks Community, with Reverend Wes Webb officiating. Mrs. Meeks will be laid to rest beside her husband of fifty four years.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, at the gravesite, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
