Mrs. Shirley Hutcheson Horne, age 75, of Glenwood passed away at her home on Monday afternoon, September 9, 2019.

Born in Cobbtown in Tatnall County, she was the only daughter and the youngest of two children born to the late John Wallace "J.W." and Ruby Lee Dickerson Sapp. She graduated from Toombs Central High School, Class of 1962. She had worked at Oxford Manufacturing before starting a forty year career as a Bookkeeper for various individuals and businesses in the Treutlen, Laurens and Toombs County area.

During high school she had played basketball and as a young adult she played the position of pitcher in the Treutlen County Women's Softball League.

In later years she enjoyed fishing and sitting on the back porch with her husband watching their hummingbirds and squirrels.

She was a member at Harmony Baptist Church.

She leaves behind, her husband of 18 years, Gary Horne, Glenwood, GA, children, Terry Hutcheson (Tina), Mickey Hutcheson (Dana), all of Soperton, Georgia, Matt Horne (Lisa), Vidalia, GA, Stephanie Miller (Dustin), Rockledge, GA, her brother, Shelton Edro Sapp, Lyons, GA, grandchildren, Terry Drake Hutcheson (Briannon), Emily Hutcheson, Ashley Lumley (Brian), Adam Denham (Samantha), Jonathan Denham (Candice), Marissa Larkey (Danny), Matraca Porter, great grandchildren, Fischer, Logan, LeAnn, Buddy, Tyler, Matthew, Ryan, Erin, Keely, Roy, Hunter and Ariel.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Sweat and Reverend Jason Corbett officiating.

Mrs. Horne will be laid to rest in the Hutcheson Family Cemetery, Treutlen County, Georgia.

Serving as active pallbearers will be: Wayne and Raymond Dickerson, Ken Pollette, Matt Horne, Dustin Miller and Eddie Mimbs.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Alvin Wheeler, Dale James and Gene Stewart.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
