Socorro Velasquez, age 80, of Soperton passed away at her home on Monday evening, November 25, 2024.

Born in Columbia, South America, she was the daughter of the late Rafael Velasquez and Anna Castano Velasquez.

She had been a lifelong resident of South America before coming to the United States in 1979.  In 2007 she moved to Georgia and has made Soperton her home since 2010

She enjoyed sewing, traveling, walking and taking care of her plants.

Left to cherish her memories are: her five children, Alejandra Bedoya, Rodolfo "Rudy" Bedoya, Dianna Sanchez, Julio Bedoya, Julian Bedoya,  seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dublin with the Reverend Father Jude Shayo, AJ, Celebrant.
