Mr. Steven Lanier Brown Sr.,  age 59, beloved husband of Wendy Mason – Brown of Soperton passed away on Saturday morning, December 21, 2024 at their residence.

Born in Dublin, he was the son of Paul Brown and Barbara Ann Meeks Kilgore.  He grew up in the Adrian and Orianna Community and was a graduate of Adrian High School, Class of 1983.  Steven enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1983 – 1987.  Upon being honorably discharged he began a long career in the Paper Industry.  His last employer was Smurfit / West Rock in East Dublin from where he completed a total of approximately thirty years.  In 2015 he had married Soperton native, Wendy Mason and in 2016 they moved to Soperton.

Steven and Wendy were happiest when they were together and out doors.  They enjoyed riding their Ranger to Pete's Dead River, fishing and spending time at the cabin on the Ogeechee River.  Steven was a collector of native Indian artifacts and possessed a great collection of arrowheads and pottery that he and Wendy had dug from the sand of the river banks.

Steven is preceded in death by a brother, Kipley Allen Brown, who passed away in 1991 and his step mother, Ann Brown.

He leaves behind: his wife, Wendy Mason – Brown, Soperton, GA, two sons, Stevie Brown Jr., Orianna, Caylon Mason (Taylor), Uvalda, GA, his father, Paul Brown, East Dublin, GA, his mother, Barbara Meeks Kilgore, Orianna Community of Soperton and grandchildren, Kayden and Brayley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Dwayne Clements officiating.

His family will receive friends on Monday evening, at Sammons Funeral Home from  6:00 – 8:00 o'clock p. m.
