Mrs. Sula Bridges Webb, age 78, beloved wife of the late Charles Q. Webb, living in the Midway Community of Soperton passed away on Monday evening, April 14, 2025 while surrounded by her family and being cared for by Community Hospice in Vidalia.  Her husband, Charles, had left this world just three days prior.

Born in Soperton, she was one of twelve children born to the late George Mitchell "G. M." Bridges and Leanna Bell Phillips Bridges.  Sula met her lifelong soulmate, Charles Webb, while attending school in Treutlen County.  They married on May 7, 1966. They would have celebrated their 59th year of marriage in a few short days.

Sula worked at Soperton Manufacturing Company, Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center and later found her dream job as a driver with the Treutlen County Transit System.  Sula enjoyed her daily interaction with each of her riders as she transported them to doctor's appointments, trips for groceries and an occasional "off the record" stop for a meal at Chuck E Cheese or a side trip that might not have been scheduled, such as shopping at Hamricks.  She was happiest when she was helping others.

Sula enjoyed being out doors with Charles, gathering vegetables, preserving the fruits of their labor and sharing those fruits with others.  When she and Charles started to gain grand and great grandchildren, she especially enjoyed when they came for visits and always concocted a meal of sort sort.  With their family living around them and their loving canine companions, Trixie and Freckles by their side, they were content.

Sula and Charles had lots of friends from their hunting clubs and river properties.   If Sula and Charles knew you; you were treated like family.  Their forefathers were the founders and builders of the Midway Church, where Sula and Charles had been members.  They had also been active at Boiling Springs Missionary Baptist Church and most recently attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband of almost fifty nine years, Sula is preceded in death by siblings, Curtis Phillips, Gladys Waters, Mitchell Bridges, Doyle Bridges, Dianne Hester, Janice Lord and Debrah Bridges and one of her fur babies, Trixie.

Sula leaves behind, two loving daughters, Tammy Pullen (Joey), Peggy Cauley (Dennis), all from Soperton, GA, siblings: Delton Bridges, Soperton, GA, Martha Smith, Milledgeville, GA, Priscilla Heyer, Soperton, GA, Paul Bridges, Uvalda, GA, grandchildren, Haley Anderson (Cody), Pembroke, GA, Kelsy Brinson (Jordan), Soperton, GA, Saleena Brandhurst (Noah), Statesboro, GA, great grandchildren, Madelyn Anderson, Emersyn Anderson, Raelyn Anderson, Anniston Brinson, Colton Brandhurst, her pet, Freckles and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Gaynor Ridgdill, Pastor Conway Jones and her brother, Paul Bridges officiating.

Sula was laid to rest alongside her husband, Charles, in the Midway Church Cemetery; just a short walk from where they called home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jeff Phillips, Jeff Atkins, Franklin Smith, Kevin Bell, Phillip Blount and Jackie McCoy.

Her family received friends on Thursday, at Sammons Funeral Home, from 2:30 p.m. until the hour of service, as well as following the services, at the family residence.
