Obituary

Mr. Thomas Neal Rogers, age 64, beloved husband of Remona Kay Smallwood of Soperton passed away on Thursday afternoon, December 9, 2021 at his home.

Born in Treutlen County he was the son of the late LaFaye "Faye" Rogers and Shellie Pearl Harrison Woodall.  Mr. Rogers was a lifelong resident on Treutlen County except for a short time in Perry, Florida.  He had worked as a Mechanic and Motor Grader Operator for Treutlen County for many before retiring in and late 1990s.

He enjoyed performing with the Lighthouse Gospel Group where he played the guitar and sang.  He was committed to his daily devotions and loved to talk about the Bible and the lessons that he had learned through it's pages.  He had attended the Snowhill Church of God and the Greater Vision Community Church in Alamo.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rogers is preceded in death by siblings, James Rogers, Jim Ed Lanford, Johnny Wayne Lanford, Dorothy Jean "Dot" Keene and a grand daughter, Bailey Grace Williams.

He leaves behind, his wife of 45 years, Remona "Katie" Smallwood Rogers, Soperton, GA, children, Angel LaFaye Rogers Demmer (Raymond), Orianna Community, Soperton, GA, Kimberly Rogers Williamson (Billy), Oak Park, GA, Thomas Neal Rogers Jr. (Lori), Wrightsville, GA, Shelly LaCrystal Williams (Steven), Lothair Community, Soperton, GA, brothers, Rodger Phillips, Soperton, GA, Leland Wayne Rogers, Boliver, TN, LaFaye Rogers Jr., TN, Jimmy Lawson Rogers, Soperton, GA, his sister, Louella Beasley (Donnie), Beasley Hill Community, Soperton, GA,  thirteen grandchildren, a great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 13, 2021 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, Georgia with Reverend Troy Maddox officiating.

Mr. Rogers will be laid to rest beside his father in Red Bluff Cemetery.

His family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
