Obituary

Mr. Timothy Eugene "Tim" Sasnett, age 60 of East Dublin passed away on Tuesday morning, December 12, 2023 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

He was born in Winter Haven, Florida to Helen Priscilla Bridges and the late Dewey Lavon Sasnett.  At an early age the family moved to Warner Robins where Tim graduated from Warner Robins High School, Class of 1980.  After high school, he attended Georgia College in Milledgeville where he studied Psychology.  In the mid 1980's he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in Special Ops until being Honorably Discharged from NAS Jax., Jacksonville, Florida.  Upon leaving the Navy, he moved to South Florida and worked with his uncle, George Mitchell Bridges Jr. at his business, Everglades Holiday Park.  To the amusement and sometimes fright of visitors to the park; he wrestled and charmed alligators.  In his off time Tim trained aspiring athletes in the boxing ring; some reaching the professional ranks.  He later came to Treutlen County where his family had established roots generations ago; through his great grandparents who were full blooded Cherokee Indians.  Tim worked as a Contactor for various nuclear and fossil fueled power companies until joining the Southern Company as an NDE Technician, retiring as a Supervisor.  While living in Soperton, Tim coached Little League baseball teams within the Treutlen County Recreation Department.

He was an avid fan of the Miami Hurricanes, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Phillies.  He enjoyed his motorcycles and the company of his pet Rhode Island Red chicken "Polly".

Affectionately known as "Tinker", he is preceded in death by his fathers, Dewey Lavon Sasnett and Floyd Heyer, as well as siblings, Kim Lever, Rhonda Sasnett and Anthony Sasnett.

Tinker leaves behind, his wife, Carrie A. Sasnett, East Dublin, GA, his former wives, Kathie "Kat" Sasnett, Milledgeville, GA and Tammy Maloney, Syracuse, NY.  He also leaves behind his mother, Helen Priscilla Bridges Heyer, Soperton, GA, children, Brandy Jordan (Anthony), ME, Jesse "Doc" Sasnett (Courtney), Soperton, GA, Preston D. McGann (Chelsea), Orlando, FL, Daniel S, McGann (Casie), Orlando, FL, siblings, LaVonna Nelson (Ed), Middleville, MI, Donna Fleming, Port St. Lucie, FL, Corey Sasnett, Cocoa Beach, FL, Tyler Sasnett, Cocoa Beach, FL, Jeff Sasnett (Patricia), Port St. Lucie, FL grandchildren, Matthew Sasnett, Reagan Holt, McKenzie Jordan, Colt Sasnett, Mila Sasnett, Jackson McGann, Kaden McGann, Molly McGann, Aubrey McGann, Olivia McGann, Adeline Claire McGann, another on the way, countless nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his canine pet, "Cash".

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from the graveside in the Phillips Family Cemetery.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the cemetery, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service or friends and family may call at the home of his mother.
