Mrs. Treva M. Smith, age 92, beloved wife of the late Bruce Talbot Smith of Dublin, passed away at the home of her daughter on Saturday morning, June 7, 2025.

Born in Rockville, IN, she was one of ten children in her family.  She grew up in Rockville and attended school in Terre Haute, where she graduated from high school and nursing school.  In 1951 she met and married, Uvalda native, Bruce Smith who was serving as an Airman in the United States Air Force.  The newlyweds later moved to Dublin to be near his family.  Her husband worked as a civilian at Robins Air Force Base while Mrs. Smith worked as a nurse at the Macon Hospital and Laurens County Memorial Hospital before joining the ranks at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, where she remained until retiring in 1973.

Mrs. Smith was a member and Past President of the Laurens County Historical Society as well as a member of the Dublin Fine Arts Association and the Pineforest United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband who passed away in 1994 and siblings, Gerald Martin, Virginia Morgan, June Thomas, Martha Livengood, Charles Martin, Rosemary Fortner, Jane Martin and Barbara Medley.

Mrs. Smith leaves behind, her children, Scott Smith (Renee), Valdosta, GA, Cathryn Whitaker (Lee), Dublin, GA, her last living sibling, brother, Earnie Martin, Pittsboro, IN, six grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Mrs. Smith will be laid to rest beside her husband in Rockville, Indiana.
