Mr. Tunney Warren Morris, age 92 of Soperton passed away on Tuesday morning, December 3, 2019 at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia, Georgia.

Born in the Gillis Springs Community of Soperton, he was one of six children born to the late James Allen "Rabbit" Morris and Emma Jane Meeks Morris. At the age of eighteen he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict from where he received a WWII Victory and Occupation Medal. After returning home, in the early 1960s he and one of his brothers operated a hamburger stand in Soperton. Mr. Morris worked for many years in the Lumber and Saw Mill industry as a Mechanic and Saw Filer. After working for many years at the H.V. and T.G. Thompson Lumber Company he and two of his sons started Morris Saw Works where he retired in the late 1980s.

Mr. Morris enjoyed playing the guitar and had attended Hebron Holiness Church in Soperton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and Jerome Morris, two sisters, Pernette Powell and Frances Findley and a son, Donnie Craig Morris, who passed away in 1980.

Mr. Morris leaves behind, his children, Connie Ely (Carlton), Soperton, GA, Shirley Salter (Lonnie), Uvalda, GA, Lorraine Morgan (Charles), Lyons, GA, Warren Morris, Moultrie, GA, Randy Morris (Cindy), Ellabelle, GA, Peggy Yates, Atlanta, GA, Bruce Morris (Teresa), Soperton, GA, Michael Morris (Gail), Wrightsville, GA, Billy Morris, Hazlehurst, GA, Cathy McCullough, Soperton, GA, John Morris, Mobile, AL, a sister, Lennie Vaughn, Vidalia, GA and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 5, 2019 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverends Jim Yeomans, Donnie Morris and Brent Morris officiating.

Mr. Morris will be laid to rest in Harmony Church Cemetery.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, at the funeral home, from 1:00 pm until the hour of service.
