Mrs. Vettia Sue Turner Clark, age 75, beloved wife of the late Freddie Clark of Soperton passed away on Friday morning, March 14, 2025 at the East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro, Georgia.
Born in Leesburg, Florida, she was one of four children born to the late Jessie Willard Turner and Inez Newton Turner. She grew up in Florida where she was a graduate of Tavares High School. In later years she met and married Freddie Clark. The Clarks lived in Astatula, Florida before coming to Georgia and settling in Treutlen County in the mid 1990s. After coming to Georgia, Mrs. Clark worked in the Textile Industry before attending Swainsboro Technical College where she earned her CNA Certification. She then worked at the Oaks Bethany in Vidalia and with various home healthcare agencies.
Her husband passed away in 1994.
Mrs. Clark was a member at Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, collecting recipes and recipe books and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Willard "Eddie" Turner, a niece, Cheyenne Kittrell and a bother in law, Robert Lee "Robbie" Toler.
Mrs. Clark leaves to cherish her memory; her son, Ricky Clark (Carol), Soperton, GA, Barbie Sue Coleman ( Ander Coleman, Jr.), Swainsboro, GA, her sister, Darlene Toler, Soperton, GA, her brother, James "Jim" Turner, Baltimore, MD, grandchildren, Sam Scarboro, Damian Ashley (Adriana), Gabriel "Gooby" Coleman, nieces, Lisa Kittrell, Rockledge, GA, Sandy Miles, Tallahassee, FL, Angie Glover, Astatula, FL, great nieces, Kayla Clark, Marissa Mills and great nephews, Tommy Mills Jr. and Allen Glover as well as her canine companions, Cuddles and Bit- Bit .
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from the graveside in Holton Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Morris Brantley officiating.
Mrs. Clark will be laid to rest beside her husband.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, in the church fellowship hall, from 12:30 pm until the hour of service and following the service.
