Mr. Virgil Lee Keen, age 69, of Soperton died Tuesday, September 5, 2017.

Mr. Keen was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by his parents, Verlon and Jacqueline Kicklighter Keen, son, Lee Keen, and brothers, Lamar Keen and Bobby Dean Horne. He was retired from Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of Snowhill Community Church, Wheeler County.

Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Dorothy Lanford Keen; sisters, Carolyn Lanford of Soperton and Lillian Gregory of Swainsboro; brothers, Marvin Keen of Mount Vernon, Jerry Keen of Soperton, Ralph Ray Keen of Lyons, and Tommy Keen of Glenwood; aunt, Marjorie Keen of East Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 o'clock Friday, September 8, with Reverend W. R. Connell officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Treutlen County.

Pallbearers will be Neil Rogers, J. D. Lanford, Quincy Phillips, Troy Phillips, Evans Lanford, Chad Bright, and Tommy Clinard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
