Mr. Virgil E. Soles, age 84, of Scott, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 21, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Mt. Olive Church of The Nazarene, Wrightsville, GA with Pastor Timothy W. Tharp and Reverend L.T. Logue officiating.

Mr. Soles will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, at the church, from 1:00 pm until the hour of service.

Born in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Willie Delmus and Mattie Hudson Soles. Mr. Soles had been a lifelong resident of the Scott / Johnson County area and had worked for many years as a residential building Contractor and part time Barber, at his home.

He had been a longtime member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene.

His family recalls his love for fishing and playing pranks on family and friends. Mr. Soles was one to walk fast and never procrastinate.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Stanley Soles, a daughter in law, Kay Soles, two brothers, Aubrey and Edgar Soles and a sister, Mamie Ola Griffis.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bobbie Jean Fulford Soles, Scott, GA, children, Ann Hood (Robert), Kite, GA, Greg Soles, Randy Soles, Roger Soles (Shirley) all of Scott, Connie Carter (Carl), Milledgeville, GA, two brothers, W.D. Soles and Robert Soles (Mary Helen), a sister, Fran Sauls, of Scott, fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grand and great grandsons, Michael, Joey, Kevin, Tyler and Gavin Hood, Jason, Stanley, Mark and Channan Soles.
