Mrs. Wannell Conner Collins, age 86 of Montgomery County passed away at her home on Saturday morning, December 28, 2024.
She had worked at Roydon Wear in Soperton for twenty five years before retiring as a Seamstress.
Some of her favorite things to do were cooking for her family, listening to gospel music , gardening and watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball.
She was preceded in death by two of her children; Janet Collins Hardy and Jerald B. Collins of Soperton, Georgia; her parents, J. B. and Edna Conner and siblings; Juanita Conner, Elise Redfern, Margaret Cooper, Claudine Hauser, Aaron Conner, Bobby Conner, Joseph Conner and James Conner.
Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband of seventy years, Mr. Paul Collins and her two daughters, Lisa Herron (Jeff) and Paula Bridges (Robert), all of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Ophelia Holland (David) of Cobbtown, Martha Daniels (Truman) of Lake Sinclair and Brenda Joyner (Wilbur) of Soperton; six grandchildren, Janna Hardy, Ryan Hardy (Toni), Josh Bridges, Jodi Blount (Bruce), Bailey Collins and Conner Geiger; ten great grandchildren, Jahala Harper, Jalen Harvey, Jacob Harvey, Ryleigh, Emma, R. J. Hardy and Chrislee Hardy, Caleb Bridges, Eyleigh and Nolan Blount and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Crosby officiating.
Her family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home, from 1:00 o'clock p. m. until the hour of service.
Mrs. Collins will be laid to rest beside her son in Westview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Josh Bridges, Caleb Bridges, Ryan Hardy, R. J. Hardy, Jalen Harvey, Jacob Harvey, Blake Ivester and David Herron.
