Mr. Warren Randall Shiver, age 72, beloved husband of the late Lucretia Shiver passed away on Tuesday morning, November 8, 2022 at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.
Born in Macon, Georgia, he was the middle child of three born to the late William Wade "Billy" Shiver Jr. and Madeline Evelyn Cooper Shiver. Growing up he and his family spent some time in Ft. Myers before returning to Soperton in the early 1960s. Mr. Shiver was a graduate of Treutlen County High School, Class of 1969 and had attended Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon. He had worked at the Woolen Mill for a short time before accepting an opportunity at GFF where he was a supervisor and remained for over thirty years. While at GFF he met Soperton native, Lucretia McLendon, whom would become his wife in November of 1986.
Mr. Shiver enjoyed hunting, fishing, yardwork, Georgia football and family genealogy.
He was Baptist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lucretia McLendon Shiver.
Mr. Shiver leaves behind: his children, Erica Woods, (Casey), Derek Warren Shiver, all of Soperton, GA, his brothers, William Wade "Billy" Shiver III (Susan), Evans, GA, Darrell Cooper (Sandy), North Augusta, SC, his sister, Gail Shiver Smith (Greg), Augusta, GA, two grandchildren, Gracie and Emma Woods, a nephew, Gregory Jordan Smith, nieces, Renee Smith, Jayme Shiver, Tiffany Looman, a great niece and great nephews, Madison Sankey, Evan Sankey, Carter Looman, Aiden Looman and a special friend, Cregg Dominy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Sweat officiating.
Mr. Shiver will be laid to rest beside his wife in Westview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Darrell Cooper, Casey Woods, Bart McLendon, Greg Smith, Rodney Byrd and Cregg Dominy.
His family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
