Obituary

Mr. Wayne Franklin Clark, age 92, beloved husband of Lauradell Meeks Clark of Forest Park, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 30, 2025, at their home.

Born in Montgomery County, he was one of six sons born to the late Herbert Franklin Clark  and Lovie Jeanette Fordham Clark.  Mr. Clark grew up in Mt. Vernon and had attended Brewton Parker during the 8th and 9th grades before graduating from Ailey High School in 1950.  In 1951, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served with the Special Forces in the European Theatre.  Upon being honorably discharged, he worked at the Savannah River Site in Jackson, SC before joining Union Camp Paper Corporation in Lakeland, FL in 1958.  In 1959, he married Lauradell Meeks.  He transferred with Union Camp to Forest Park, Georgia in the 1961, where they made their home.   Mr. Clark remained with Union Camp until retiring as a supervisor in 1992, with thirty-three years of total service.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark were members of First Christian Church, Tyrone, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Terrell Clark (Dot), Elton Clark (Rachel) and Guy Clark (Wanda).

Mr. Clark leaves behind, his wife of sixty-six years, Lauradell Meeks Clark, Forest Park, GA; their two sons, Stephen Clark (Becky), Sharpsburg, GA; Brett Clark (Kim), Milner, GA; brothers, Carlos Clark (Marynell), Orianna, GA; Wade Clark (Ann), Soperton, GA; four grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 o'clock a. m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with, his sons, Reverend Stephen Clark and Brett Clark, officiating.

Mr. Clark will be laid to rest privately at the Orianna Cemetery.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00 o'clock a. m. until the hour of service at  Sammons Funeral Home.
