William Alan Sweat, age 59, of Soperton passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017.
Born in Dublin, GA, Alan grew up in Savannah and Brunswick, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend William T. "Bill" Sweat, and his twin granddaughters, Annie Leigh Spivey and Kelly Ruth Spivey. Alan was a retired GM master mechanic and was a member of Dead River Brothers Ride Club. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Brunswick.
Survivors include his daughters, Kristi Sweat (Jeremy) Fisk and children, Bryson Fisk and Kyra Fisk of Alamogordo, NM, Wendy Leigh Sweat (Ryan) Spivey and children, Landon Spivey, Kayleigh Spivey, Alivia Spivey, Cason Spivey, and Luke Spivey of East Dublin, and Miranda "Amy" Sweat and children, Destiny Miller, Tamaria Miller, Madison Miller, Amaree Miller, and Ayden Miller of Dublin; mother, Editha Sweat (Rayford) Hester of Dublin; sisters, Kay Vaughn Meeks of Tarrytown and Beth (Andres) Loosberg of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in Harmony Cemetery, Treutlen County, at 11 o'clock Saturday, December 23, with Reverend Kerry Walker officiating. Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, is in charge of arrangements.
Friends are welcome to gather and pay their respects at the funeral home Saturday from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Members of the Dead River Brothers Ride Club will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Keen and David Brantley.
